Heritage Trails

Heritage Trails - There is so much more in a name than merely a label.  When we chapter members of the newest Wisconsin Questers chapter (as of September 3, 1992) set about identifying our organization, many names were suggested, tried on for size, and ultimately discarded.  None seemed exactly right.  Famous persons were too pertinent to certain locale, historic landmarks were similarly too specific.  Since we all come from a much broader area, representing a number of cities, towns and villages in the lake country, we had to choose a name that would truly signify this diversity and yet this coming together for a common purpose.
                     HERITAGE TRAILS #1227
                  Chartered 1992 - First Meeting & Members

Chartered in October, 1992, the first membership roster listed 17 members. Co-founders, Shirley Hinds and Gertrude (Trudy) Clark held the chapter’s first meeting on September 3rd at the home of Jane De Coriolis to welcome the newly elected officers who were as follows: Shirley Hinds, President; Rebecca Eash, Vice-President; Trudy Clark, Secretary; and Charlotte Wilson, Treasurer. The chapter name, “Heritage Trails”, was unanimously approved. The first program entitled, “Have We Lost Our Marbles?”, presented by Jane De Coriolis, explored her collection of rare and expensive hand-blown and machine-made marble varieties. Some members also brought their vintage marbles to share in a “show and tell” discussion.
