Education is a major advocacy for Questers. Through members donations, the organization annually funds a two-year $17,000 scholarship to a graduate student earning a Master of Science Degree in Preservation and Restoration at Columbia University and a three-year, $40,000, fellowship to a graduate student earning a Master of Science Degree in Art Conservation at University of Delaware/Winterthur. After the candidates are accepted into the respective programs, resumes and application forms are sent to International Executive Board for the final selection.
The Founder's Award, in honor of Founder Jessie Elizabeth Bardens, is the highest honor for research conferred on Questers by fellow members. The winner is announced at the International Convention each year. The 2022 Founder's Award Topic is: NORTHWOODS LOGGING – MYTHS AND LEGENDS.
The highlight of State Meetings are the mini lyceums. These programs introduce us to a variety of subjects from “Chicken Feed Linens” to “Fore-Edge Painting on Book Edges.” Educational seminars are also a major part of the International Conventions. At chapter meetings, the focus is on programs that vary from collections of members, a knowledgeable guest speaker, or a tour of a local historical landmark.
